You’ve raised the required large sum for the visa (currently €11,208 per year, but it can increase anytime!). Congratulations, you’ve passed the hardest part! 🎉 But now a new stress begins: How will I transfer this money to Germany and who can I trust? Let’s solve this money matter.
1. The Era of Digital Providers Has Begun 📱 Digital platforms have replaced traditional banks that used to struggle with bureaucracy:
Expatrio: Generally preferred for its "Value Package." The process is very fast and entirely online. 🚀
Fintiba: One of the oldest and most reliable players in the market. Its interface is very user-friendly. 🛡️
Coracle: Another affordable and fast alternative that has become popular recently. Decision Time: All three are accepted by the Consulate. Decide based on their package fees.
2. Money Transfer Stress: Don't Let SWIFT Fees Hurt! 💸 When sending €11,000 from your bank at home to Germany, banks may charge high SWIFT fees.
Golden Tactic: Use international transfer apps like Wise (formerly TransferWise). They offer much lower commissions and better exchange rates than banks. 💡
3. Alternative Path: Guarantor (Verpflichtungserklärung) 🤝 For those who say, "I don't have that much cash, but I have a high-income acquaintance in Germany":
What is it?: An official commitment by a person in Germany to cover all your expenses.
Difficulty: The guarantor's income must be above a certain level and they must personally apply to the Foreigners' Office (Ausländerbehörde). 😓
