Income Limit: €23,000 or €27,000?
DSU Toscana scholarship criteria are generally based on the ISEE (Indicatore della Situazione Economica Equivalente) calculation.
For most years the limit is kept at around €23,000 .
In some periods or regions, this limit can be up to €27,000 .
So there is no single fixed figure; you have to look at the band announced every year.
👉 Recommendation: Before applying, be sure to read the Bando di Concorso document published on the official website of DSU Toscana for that year.
Entering Pensions into the System
Many students ask, "My family's source of income is a pension. How should I declare this?"
Pensions also count as income.
The Employment or Unemployment option on the system is confusing.
For a retired parent, the “Employment” option is usually selected because there is a regular income (pensione).
Among the documents, the SGK pension statement and notarized translation + apostille are required.
Bank Accounts and Savings
Income criteria are not limited to salary alone. DSU considers the financial situation of the student and their family.
The bank balance as of December 31 is often required.
Some bands also require the average balance throughout the year .
Account statements must be translated and often certified with an apostille.
👉 Students can make the mistake of uploading only one dated document. It's safest to submit both the average balance and the final balance as of December 31st .
Exceptions and Regional Differences
In some regions outside Tuscany (e.g. Lombardia, Emilia-Romagna), different income limits may apply.
Different regions may declare different figures in the same year.
Erasmus students must be based on the DSU band of the region where their university is located .
Solution Suggestions
Do not rely on any sources other than the official band (call text) .
Prepare income documents with notary + apostille .
For pension, select the “Employment” option and attach proof of regular income.
Document both the year-end balance and the annual average balance in your bank accounts.
In cases of doubt , obtain written confirmation from your university's international office.
There's no single correct answer to the question, "€23,000 or €27,000?" The answer lies in the annual report . The biggest mistake students make is relying on hearsay. By using official income declarations and preparing all necessary documentation, you can secure your scholarship eligibility.
