For Czech Erasmus students, the most stressful period is waiting for an answer to the question "What is the status of your application?" after submitting it. The mysterious statuses on the Czech Ministry of Internal Affairs website, in particular, confuse students. "Application received," "Assessment," "Pending," "Completed." What do these expressions mean, and which are good and which are bad?
In this blog, I explain all the steps in a simple and clear way.
1ļøā£ Where can I check the system status?
Czech Republic long-term visa application status can be checked at this address: š Ministry of Interior (MOI) Visa Application Tracking
Three pieces of information are required for the search.
Passport number
Date of birth
Application type
The inquiry screen displays the result in two seconds.
2ļøā£ When will the application be submitted to the system?
This is the point that students get confused about the most. The system is not updated immediately after the application.
ā Average times.
Forwarding from the consulate to the Ministry of Interior. 5-10 days.
The file will be processed. 10-20 days.
It will appear in the system in 20-30 days.
So the application won't be visible immediately, which is perfectly normal.
3ļøā£ Explanation of All Statuses Seen in the System
Now let's move on to the most critical part. I will explain each and every phrase that appears in the system.
š© 1. āApplication Receivedā
This means your application has been received by the system. No action has been taken yet, but the document has reached the Czech Republic.
This is a good sign.
š© 2. āIn Processā or āAssessmentā
It is the longest stage.
At this stage.
The documents are checked.
Accommodation is confirmed.
Financial adequacy is examined.
A security and intelligence screening is conducted.
Your university acceptance is confirmed.
The average processing time is 30ā90 days . For some applications, it may take up to 120 days .
š© 3. āAdditional Reviewā or āPending Documentsā
This indicates that there is additional processing required for one of the documents.
Example.
Accommodation confirmation
Financial control
Document readability
The consulate may call you, but most of the time you'll just be asked to wait.
š© 4. āProcessing Completedā
This statement represents the stage where students are happiest.
This indicates that the evaluation is complete . However, a decision may not yet have been announced.
The consulate usually sends an email 1-5 days later. It's most likely confirmation.
š© 5. āIssued / Approvedā
Your visa has been approved. From this moment on, the consulate will begin preparing your passport.
š„ 6. āRejected / Not Approvedā
This is a rare occurrence. In this case, the consulate sends an official decision letter.
4ļøā£ Why is the status not updating in the system?
Students often ask, "It's been writing the same thing for a month, is there a problem?"
No. The system updates very slowly.
ā Reasons for update delays.
The files are processed manually.
Security checks take a long time.
There may be public holidays or high traffic.
The inquiry system is not updated for weeks.
Even if the situation doesn't change, the process continues.
5ļøā£ What does it mean if the inquiry screen is blank?
This is the most panic-inducing situation: "It looked like my application wasn't there."
This usually happens for the following reasons.
The file has not yet been uploaded to the system.
The system is undergoing maintenance.
Your internet browser is not displaying the page due to a cookie issue.
That doesn't mean there were no applications.
6ļøā£ The Healthiest Monitoring Method
ā Check once a week
Checking it every day creates stress and doesn't strain the system.
ā Pay attention to emails from the consulate.
The decision usually comes via email.
ā Don't lose contact with your university.
In some cases, the school expedites the accommodation confirmation process.
šÆ In short
Although the Czech Ministry of Internal Affairs' tracking system might seem like a challenging process for students, it's actually very simple. Status updates are slow, but the process constantly progresses. The most critical stage is the "Assessment" phase, and patience is required. Once the system is updated, a decision is usually announced within a few days.
