Lease Agreement and Translation Terms
Students living in rented accommodation are required to sign a lease agreement .
Translation alone is often not sufficient. The safest method: š Sworn translation + Apostille + Notarization + Apostille (Double Apostille)
All pages must be translated completely.
2. Is a Title Deed Document Required?
If some students live with their families or in their own homes, DSU will require a land registry record to document this. This will be obtained from the land registry office. The land registry will ask whether the property is for the entire country or just for that district.
If the student lives in the family home ā The family's house deed is presented.
If the student lives in his/her own house ā A title deed registered in his/her name must be submitted.
Translation Condition:
The title deed, like other documents, must be translated into Italian, apostilled, notarized and have a second apostille .
How Should the Apostille Process Be Performed?
š The most confusing topic for students: When is apostille applied?
The correct order is:
Get the documents (SGK, bank, title deed, lease contract, etc.).
Get a sworn translation .
Officialize the translation with notarization .
After the translations, get apostille approval (district governorship/governorship).
If you only apply the apostille to the original Turkish document, the translation will not be considered valid. For DSU Toscana applications, an apostille after the translation is required for the documents to be accepted.
Common Mistakes Made by Students
Uploading documents after translation without obtaining an apostille
Applying apostille only to Turkish documents
Not translating all pages of the lease agreement
Relying solely on verbal agreements with the landlord
Solution Suggestions ā
Always have the apostille done after the translations .
Use the same method across all your documents ā it provides an advantage in terms of compliance.
Make sure that all information in the lease agreement, such as signature, date, and address, is correct.
The essential rule for the acceptance of rental agreements and title deeds in DSU Toscana applications: š Sworn translation + Apostille + Notary approval + Apostille ).
When you follow these three steps, your documents will be officially valid in Italy and you will not have any problems with your application.
