Romania Consular Region Map. Which Province Must Apply to Which Consulate?

ree

One of the most critical points in the Romanian student visa process is choosing the correct consulate. The appointment location is determined not by the city where the student studies. but strictly by the official residence address. This rule never changes and is evaluated only through the residence certificate.

This guide explains Romania’s consular jurisdictions. which province belongs to which center. and how to choose the correct appointment location.

1️⃣ Romania Accepts Long-Term Visa Applications Through Three Centers in Turkey

Long-term Romanian visa applications are processed in three main offices:

Istanbul Consulate GeneralCovers most of the Marmara and Black Sea region.

Ankara EmbassyHas the widest jurisdiction in Turkey.

Izmir ConsulateAccepts applications from selected Aegean provinces.

Each applicant must apply only through the center responsible for their residence province.

2️⃣ The Residence Rule Is Absolute. The Student’s University Address Does NOT Count

The only determining factor is the province where your official residence is registered. The city where you study or temporarily live has no influence on your appointment location.

Examples.A student studying in Antalya but with residence in Samsun applies through Istanbul.A student studying in Ankara but officially residing in Izmir applies through Izmir.A student studying in Bursa but registered in Ankara applies through Ankara.

This rule is never flexible.
